The event isn’t until June, but though it’s wintertime now, it’s not too early to start planning to attend. Registering early will take a load off your mind and make it easier to get a room in our host hotel, the Hotel Corque.

Think California is just too far to come in your MG? Think again! We’re working on organized tours from the East Coast and Midwest, so you can travel with a group for support. Think you might be bored once you get here? Look closer! Solvang is a small town and hard to find on a map, but it has a wealth of destinations and activities. Within the area, the driving opportunities include a half-dozen unique small towns, amazing wine country, restored Spanish missions, historic stage stops, and multiple mountain ranges and valleys to the Pacific coast.

If you’d rather walk, Solvang’s Danish downtown is a couple of blocks from our hotel, and the Santa Ines Mission is almost next door. The half-timbered buildings of Solvang create a friendly old-world atmosphere. The Danish bakeries and restaurants are popular, and besides the Danish Elverhoj Museum and the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, for the MG enthusiast there are the Vintage Motorcycle Museum and the Museum of Gasoline Pumps and Petroliana.

The climate is coastal California, warm, dry and sunny inland and cool at the coast. Santa Barbara is 20 minutes away. The Valley is two hours from Los Angeles and five hours from San Francisco. Other areas of the Central Coast are not far, including Hearst Castle, Monterey, Big Sur, and Highway 1 along the coast, designated an All-American Road as one of the most scenic byways in the country.

GT-42 is worth the trip. Register now!
